about

All living creatures are impatient at the beginning of Spring. We become anxious about the coming of Summer. By March, everyone loathes the long winter that's frosted over our lives, turning them cold and boring. This song uses the beauty of the blooming season as a metaphor for action. Specifically, the poem in the song personifies a perennial plant, as it awaits the coming of another opportunity. Patiently, we look for an opening. Patiently, we sit. Patiently, we bloom.

lyrics

Waiting patiently to bloom
Praying ancient prayers to soothe
Lying patiently

Breaking ground and rising up
In preparation to erupt
Hoping spring will come too soon

Naked eyes upon the sun
Watching water start to run
From it's frozen state of mind

Setting congregations free
Liberated so are we
Creatures wake from sleep divine

about

As if they are synonymous, Diggs Duke's music blends a limber voice with winding horn lines and electric guitar passages. ... more "On a vocal level, I identify with female singers more than male ones 'cause their voices correspond with musical instruments that sound much nicer. I'd rather hear an alto sax than a trombone." But, all smoothness aside, the music also packs a punch that startles the ear. less
