So many gallons, it pours and pours There's a hole in my boat. But, I'm so close to shore. And all these punctures, all these things that slipped away, all these thrown away yesterdays will soon be found. So many people, jokesters and whores, speak their own little language, slow and jagged. So many conversations with fools. and all these conversations, all these precious words I've blown, all these ideas I've tasted will come to some use in my time. In my old age, just before the upper room, I'll know... that I made use of every moon. There's something to say of a man who hopes. There's a whole in my bucket. But, my heart's intact. Healing fire. Smoldering Mind. Creation for the daughters. Giggling mime. And I'm laughing up and down the street. Yes, I'm giggling like a mime... Cause I know... There's a hole in my bucket. But, my heart's intact. There's a hole in my bucket. But, my soul.

At its own pace In its own way An empty field now, with grass that once was green. Exodus unfolded. The circus fled the scene. High Above now, birds form into a 'V.' Below is a toll road, charging dystopian fees. The feeling is so familiar, somehow being stuck in between. The carousel travels its laborsome path. It keeps moving forward in circles. Once you go, you never come back. If you can recall all your memories from the last time around. The wreath on the door, the ring on the finger, the gun to the head, the white wedding gown.

about

"Their Songs Never Cease” is a collection of five songs by two composers who've worked with each other for twenty years. A collaboration in the truest sense, the songs are as American as their writers and as modern as the changing times. Dr. Conor Mulroy and Jonathan Diggs Duke present an unlikely union of styles, performing the various parts of the music on many instruments, from strings to winds to percussion. The lyrics wander through the thoughts the writers share, inspired by hours and hours of conversation. The music travels through time signatures, from 4 to 3 to no time at all. Or perhaps they just lost time in the music, as the listener surely will.
